In Memory of Kate 1/5/00-2/5/11
As you have probably heard, Katie is now at rest in the hollow of His hand. We are very thankful that the end of her life was so peaceful and that God gave us the time to prepare our hearts, to talk with each other and to comfort her. She bore much pain and God used that to soften our hearts. He was glorified in her weakness. We thank all of you for your love & commitment to us throughout her life and that we never had to be alone.
Love, The John Hicks Family
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

We love you John and Kathy.
ReplyDeleteI try to imagine all the mixed feelings you must have - gladdened that Katie is now with Her Father, in a new perfect body, free from all suffering, happy and at rest for the first time, and yet...
Katie Rose was your precious little girl for eleven long years, whom you affectionately held and compassionately looked upon, whom you ached for, cared for, and suffered long with for every hour of her life. I think that you must miss her greatly.
I am also glad that we are not alone in this life. And I am certainly glad that we have you for friends! And that we and our children will have blessed life-long friendships with your children and grandchildren.
God is so good.
What a blessing and gift from God. She is a contant reminder that life is a gift and we must appreciate what we have been given.
